A Steel File is a tool used for creating bow saws and blades (used in knives, shears and kraut boards).

Smithing Progression:
Hitting a Hot Steel Ingot on Flat Rock with a Smithing Hammer will make: 1 Hit: Steel Axe Head 2 Hits: Steel Hoe Blade 3 Hits: Steel Chisel 4 Hits: Steel Adze Head 5 Hits: Steel Froe Blade 6 Hits: Steel File Blank 7 Hits: Steel Blade Blank 8 Hits: Steel Shovel Head 9 Hits: Steel Mining Pick Head

First make a Steel File Blank by hitting a hot steel ingot on flat rock 6 times with a smithing hammer. After 10 seconds it will cool and can be picked up from the flat rock. Use a Cooked Goose to get Oiled File Blank, then add a chisel and hit it with a Smithing Hammer to get the Steel File.
